Ilfracombe Arts Festival

We are delighted to invite you to the first ever Ilfracombe Arts Festival.
The Festival will be held at various locations throughout Ilfracombe - situated on the stunning North Devon coast.
This free festival celebrates the creativity of North Devon in a relaxed atmosphere. It is brought to you by the newly formed Lantern Arts, Ilfracombe Arts College and North Devon Theatres.
A wide variety of arts will be on show during the Festival :
The fabulous knitted Gingerbread House by Alison Murray.
The work of 30 local professional artists including painting, jewellery, ceramic, textiles, photograhy, knitwear, textiles and stained glass.
Schools exhibitions.
Ilfracombe Art & Craft exhibition.
Impromptu Performances in the High Street and Seafront.
Music at various venues.
Photography Exhibition.
Film shows by Four Feet Films.
A Poetry pop in shop with workshops and evening poetry events.
Performance and theatre both in and out side.

The festival is open to all - and nearly all events are free. The festival kicks off on Thursday with several amateur exhibitions and 'The Art of Life' at the Landmark Theatre. There is a Schools Day on Friday plus Poetry and Music events and workshops. At noon on the 25th and 26th the Lantern on the High Street will open, showcasing the work of professional artists and crafts people. All other professional artists venues will open too and workshops will also begin. The Beacon Arts Centre at Ilfracombe Arts College opens Saturday afternoon.
So come along to this beautiful coastal location, pick up a map or follow the treasure hunt to lead you to the wide range of visual delights on show.
Refreshments are available at some of the venues or you can visit local restaurants, cafes and bars. or take a walk along the coast path to the Grampus at Lee to view the work of local artsits over a pint of real ale or some freshly cooked food. There are many hotels to accommodate you as well if you want to make a weekend of it.
